Upper Cabinetry

Our upper cabinets can be mounted a variety of ways to accommodate builds with or without our wall/ceiling kits.

  • Upper stretcher with slotted mounting channels to match factory holes in Mercedes Sprinter models and flat beam sections in Transit/Promaster models
  • Back of upper cabinets features two stretchers for mounting at beam height right above factory window line as well as top corner
  • Rivet nuts, 2" machine screws, washers, and 2" self-tappers are included with each cabinet section.

The rounded overhead cabinets are manufactured in 20" identical sections. This modular approach has a the following advantages:

  • It allows you to add as many units side-by-side as you need to create your optimal layout.
  • Installation on 40" or 20" sections is dramatically simplified when mounting a combined length of 100" or more onto a wall.
  • Modular sections allow you to move around or reconfigure your layout down the road

Promaster Models:

These cabinets are cut to match the curvature of the ceiling and walls. Promasters have a uniquely flat rear profile and top profile unlike other models. Note: promaster cabinets have a 1/8" cutting channel on the top corner of each sidewall that serves as a cutting guide in case one of the overhead beams prevents the cabinets from fitting against the wall. This cutting channel is a guide on where to cut to notch your cabinets to bypass the protruding beam.

Sprinter Models:

All overhead cabinets have a curved backing and curved top to fit the factory curvature of the vehicle. While this will fit most wall paneling/ceiling setups, minor modification may be required to install these cabinets with builds utilizing furring strips.

Transit Models:
Transit models have a curvature on top and on the rear to match the factory curvature of the vehicle. Note: The primary wiring harness on the driver side wall will prevent the cabinets from fitting the driver side wall. The black wiring harness cover needs to be removed prior to cabinetry installation. The cabinets are all standardized with a cutout on the sidewalls for the wiring harness to fit into. This notch is covered by a very thin layer of veneer that may be cut away to allow space for the wiring harness to pass through.

All Models

It is strongly recommended that this cabinet is mounted using rivet nuts as specified by our Installation Guide.

All upper cabinetry materials are made from the same paint-grade plywood used in custom kitchen builds and designed to withstand years of daily use.

Prefinished Maple

  • Semigloss finish
  • Does not take stains or seals
  • Takes very well to paint
  • No finish work needed - already sealed and protected
  • Lightweight and durable

Unfinished Maple:

  • Lighter shade
  • Takes very well to lighter stains or whitewash stains
  • Takes very poorly to dark stains
  • Very easy to paint
  • Can take mineral oil/finishing oil for a nice light finish
  • Sealing recommended, but not required
  • Lightweight and durable

Unfinished Alder:

  • Natural shade is darker and has a red pigmentation
  • Takes poorly to light stains or whitewash stains
  • Takes very well to dark stains
  • Very easy to paint
  • Sealing recommended, but not required
  • 15% heavier than maple

White, Black, Bleached Blackwood, and Latitude white are particle core laminates. For this reason, they're 15% heavier than plywood and rated for less loading weight. These materials are also not bendable for rounded overhead cabinetry and will only work for squared cabinets.

If you plan on painting:

  • lightly scuff the entire surface of the cabinet that you plan on coating with 120-180 grit sandpaper.
  • Apply 2-3 coats of primer prior to applying your main coat.
  • Always apply a finish when you're happy with the paint to get a long lasting appearance.

If you plan on staining:

  • Sand the surface on all faces with sandpaper traveling with the grain of the wood.
  • Apply stain very cautiously to a section of the cabinet that will not be visible to guage the volume and pressure you need to achieve the look you want.
  • Apply stain evenly with a rag, sponge, or spray gun until all surfaces are coated.
  • Please note that overlapping surfaces may make the stain darker on the overlapped areas.
  • Always apply a finish when you're happy with the stain to get a long lasting appearance.

For Butcher Blocks and Slabs

  • For most units, there are phillips head screws holding the butcher block to the cabinet base that will need to be removed.
  • If staining, sand the butcher block thoroughly with 120-180 grit sandpaper.
    • Apply a sample on the underside of the butcher block to find a volume and pressure that achieves the color you'd like.
    • Apply stain evenly with a rag, sponge, or spray gun until all surfaces are coated.
    • Please note that overlapping surfaces may make the stain darker on the overlapped areas.
    • Always apply a food-grade finish when you're happy with the stain to get a long lasting appearance.
  • If sealing with oil or wax, make sure the oil or wax is food grade and apply evenly with a soft rag or sponge.
    • Allow to dry and re-coat one or two more times.

Our promaster upper cabinets should mount to more than one beam, but as noted it's not long enough to hit two. For this reason, we recommend using fasteners liberally to join the cabinets to the ceiling panels. We've seen great success from using standard wall anchors designed for studs (The metal variant) or other wall anchors designed to open up and expand behind the ceiling panel.

It's also recommended to use rivet nuts or similar anchoring method to join the cabinets to the horizontal beam running the length of the vehicle along the bottom/back of the cabinet.

Ceiling Kits

Sprinter Models:

All Mercedes Benz sprinter kits are designed to fit directly to the factory holes in your ceiling. The factory holes will need to be bored out to 3/8" for rivet nut inserts prior to installation. All panels are mounted 0.125" apart and cover the entirety of the ceiling between walls.

Transit Models:

All Ford Transit kits are designed with furring strips that fit directly to the factory holes in your ceiling. The factory holes will need to be bored out to 3/8" for rivet nut inserts prior to installation. All panels are mounted to the furring strips and spaced 0.125" apart and cover the entirety of the ceiling between walls.

Promaster Models:

All Ram Promaster kits are designed to fit using furring strips. The furring strip is mounted to overhead beams using rivet nuts on factory holes and the ceiling panels are fastened to the furring strip using wood screws. The outer rows are cut to match the odd curvature of the overhead trusses in your Promaster.

Yes! Our team will send you a set of required measurements to take prior to your kit going into production. Ceiling fan cutouts can only be centered from driver-to-passenger side and are made to 14.25" x 14.25". Hatch, skylight, or A/C cutouts may be accommodated at an extra charge if needed.

If you plan on painting:

  • lightly scuff the entire surface of the product that you plan on coating with 120-180 grit sandpaper.
  • Apply 2-3 coats of primer prior to applying your main coat.
  • Always apply a finish when you're happy with the paint to get a long lasting appearance.

If you plan on staining:

  • Sand the surface on all faces with sandpaper traveling with the grain of the wood.
  • Apply stain very cautiously to a section of the procuct that will not be visible to guage the volume and pressure you need to achieve the look you want.
  • Apply stain evenly with a rag, sponge, or spray gun until all surfaces are coated.
  • Please note that overlapping surfaces may make the stain darker on the overlapped areas.
  • Always apply a finish when you're happy with the stain to get a long lasting appearance.

Wall Panel Kits

There are Three types of window cutouts for wall panel kits:

Full sized window cutouts: If the cutout is for a full sized window, this is relatively simple as we will just have the cutout hug the factory shape at the edge of the window (still flush, so there are no gaps). This is free of charge.

Vanspeed Capsule cutouts: If the cutout is for a capsules, we can cut your wall panels for perfect compatibility with our capsule trim rings.

Smaller window cutouts: If the cutout is for a smaller CRL style window (usually 14" x 33" or less), we STRONGLY recommend ordering the panels first and using them as a cutting template. The cutout is free of charge, but the trim rings are not. Trim rings are typically $200 - $400 per set depending on window size and made from joined layers of baltic birch. We will have to collaborate a bit on these orders as I need the approximate window location and precise window measurements prior to making the rings or cutout.

Mercedes Sprinters interior designs changed in 2018 with two key features that changes wall paneling:
1. Newer models began featuring factory holes on Upper Wall Panels. While the holes are still pre-drilled on the wall panels, they do not have correlating factory holes and the wall paneling will need to serve as a drilling template for rivet-nut installation.

2. Newer models have redesigned rear doors that use exterior hinges as opposed to older models that require interior hinges. The wheel well panels in older models have a cutout specifically designed to house the retracting rear door catch. Additionally, lower back door panels have a different shape for older model sprinters.

Unlike other vehicles, Ram Promaster wall panels need to be mounted using self-tapping screws or rivet nuts. All of the pre-drilled holes are designed to serve as drilling guides prior to installation. Getting a helping hand to hold larger panels in place while drilling pilot holes will help speed up installation significantly.

Pricing

Lumber prices and material shortages are different from week-to-week and we have to update our pricing accordingly. While certain materials and hardware become difficult to find due to shortages, we actively work on alternatives to keep bringing you options for your build.

Returns

Our return policy states that we can not accept returns on made-to-order products unless one of the following conditions applies:

  • If the product is defective we will offer to replace the product or return the item. This does not apply if the cabinet has been installed, modified, painted, stained, or altered in any way that may damage the product.
  • If the wrong cabinet or kit was sent to you, we will replace it with the proper kit

Manufacture defects include faulty hardware, damages in veneer, and improper assembly.

If you encounter faulty hardware, we will send you replacement hardware. We do not cover return shipping.

Shipping

Orders ship differently depending on how large the order is.

For Palletized Orders:
Palletized orders are shipped together on one or more pallets and typically come delivered through and LTL service. We cover liftgate and residential fees for delivery of your pallet. If you have access to a commercial property or forklift: let us know, this will reduce shipping price considerably. Once pallet pickup has been scheduled, you will receive tracking information in an email.

If you would like to schedule a specific delivery date, please contact us and we'll arrange the delivery for you.

For Standard Orders:
Standard orders are shipped in individual packages through FEDEX, UPS, or USPS. Tracking information will be sent your way once your order is shipped. For larger orders, your order will ship in separate parcels with their own individual tracking numbers.

If your order arrives damaged, do not accept the pallet without first marking the shrink wrap section "NO" on the receiving document. If this box is not checked, we will be entirely unable to file an insurance claim and replace your order. Please get in touch with us immediately and please attach photos of the damaged box prior to opening as well as the extent of the damage.

We will take care of you!

Overview
This policy is put in place to provide protection for the buyer, seller, and carrier when orders are large enough to be
shipped through an LTL (less than truckload) service.

Pricing
LTL freight is quoted on the day of shipping after the order is completed. While shipping rates can be estimated prior
to project completion, these range significantly. The average cost of shipment on a combined pallet (more than one
product on a pallet) is $400.00.
Lift gate Service and residential delivery surcharge are paid for on every order. If the address is limited access, this
will also be added to order cost.

Insurance
Insurance coverage is paid for on each shipment. For an insurance claim to be filed, customer must photograph
damages before and after unpacking the pallet from all angles. These photos along with a detailed damage report
will be vital in filing a claim. If a claim can be successfully submitted, Serg Supply will begin to reproduce the
damaged items to be shipped back to the customer. Replaced items will fall within the current lead time for delivery.

Payment
Shipping payment is due before the pallet arrives. If shipping is not paid on day of delivery, the carrier will be
instructed to return the pallet to Serg Supply and customer will be held responsible for an additional shipping charge.

Packaging
Serg Supply is responsible for packaging products in a matter than can withstand the rigors of shipping. This
packaging must include corner padding, foam padding, plastic wrapping, warning labels, and pallet straps.

Delivery Time
Serg Supply is not responsible for any shipping delays. Shipping is handled entirely by the shipping carrier. Serg
Supply will be responsible for assisting in delivery if coordination is required, but does not have access to drivers,
dispatch, or terminals. Most deliveries in the US fall within a 5-7 day window, but weather embargos, driver
shortages, and congestion may effect the delivery date.

Wheel Well Boxes + Benches + Beds

The wheel well boxes are designed to shoot into the wall and the sub-floor. We recommend using rivet nuts inserts for the wall but self-tapping screws will work for most builds.

The wheel well boxes are designed to house all water tanks, plumbing, and electrical. Easy access hinged doors allow you to get in and out for a smooth installation and maintenance. Electrical equipment may be mounted to the inside of the wheel well box or to the wheel well panels behind the box. We would recommend cutting ventilation for electrical equipment, heaters, or pumps.

The bed is designed in two identical sections that are removable via two handle cutouts on each. The beds are primarily mounted on top of the wheel well boxes for a minimal open-garage style bed but can be taken out to accommodate tall items for transport.

    • Allow to dry and re-coat one or two more times.

Galleys

Mounting to the wall: Our galleys are designed to mount to the wall of the vehicle. You can measure and mark a section of solid wall truss/beam behind the cabinet to approximate before shooting a screw or rivet nut into the wall. We recommend a minimum of three rivet nuts or 5 self-tapping screws to hold the galley in place.

If you have a sink make sure to properly install the sink using the hardware provided with the sink. It is never wise to simply drop in a sink with no mounting brackets or silicone seal around the edges of the sink.

If you install a refrigerator it is required to cut inlet and outlet ventilation holes for the unit to cool down with posing a fire risk. Refer to your refrigerator unit manual to learn more on air flow direction and ventilation requirements.

Sealing the butcher block is commonly done using mineral oil, butcher block oil, or food-grade finish. This butcher block arrives unfinished, so make sure to seal it before use.

Our Galleys are designed to fit just about anywhere in your vehicle and we will make sure the design matches intended placement and purpose.

  • Driver Side Galleys are designed to fasten to the wall of your vehicle, typically right behind your driver seat.
  • Passenger Side Galleys are designed without a toe-kick and are to be mounted right before or along the slider step.
  • Modular galleys can be mounted anywhere in your vehicle and can be fastened to the walls or floor.

For Promaster Models: The galleys are designed to have an angled cutout in the back of the cabinet to clear the dropped floor and allow the unit to sit flush against the wall. The Promaster models also have a structural pillar in the cargo section of the vehicle that will prevent the galley from being flush with the wall if mounting to the pillar. Because of this, we recommend mounting galleys to the left or right of the structural pillars.

If you already own these units, simply add the model numbers and placement to your order notes, we'll make it fit for you.

If you do not already own the appliances, we can order them to be test-fitted and shipped with your unit from our facility.

For Promaster Models

We recommend tracing a cutout for this pillar along the backing. Horizontal placement depends on your own build preferences, but vertical placement is typically 10.5" from the floor and the cutout size is 8.5" wide x 11.5" tall x 0.75" Deep.

For Transit Models

This pillar is different in how it has significant depth to it. you will need to cut the backing and the bottom along with any partitions that may get in the way to clear this pillar. This cutout is typically 12" tall, 3" wide, and 2" deep.

For Sprinter Models

Sprinters typically don't have a deep pillar profile, so cutting around this may not be necessary. Most builder opt to run trim or scribe along cabinets touching this pillar to cover any gaps.
