Bed Systems and Benches
- Is it possible to install the 72in bed system in the front/back configuration rather than the traditional side/side? YES! The 72" Box will fit, but will require some notching to clear the pillar that protrudes from the wall
- How do I install the benches? We tend to shoot them into our subfloor using fasteners which can be done 1 of 2 ways. The first option is to shoot into the aftermarket subfloor. The second option is to shoot into vehicle floor.
- Can beds be wrapped around rear doors/pillars? Yes, but only in the Wheel Well/Universal Bed System.
Capsules and Cut Outs
- Are you able to make cutouts for my custom windows? We are only able to make cut outs if the windows are FACTORY STYLE. We cannot make cutouts for any bunk windows or after-market windows. You are, however, able to cut out the space yourself during the DIY Installation process.
Ceiling Kits and Trim Kits
- What makes a kit 'GoCode-compatible'? GoCode makes plastic trim inserts that replace the factory foam blobs in the front, and cover the door opening arches in the rear. The GoCode kit requires us to modify the walls and ceiling. This is only available for high roof models of the Sprinters and Transits at this time.
- What trim kits can our Kits work with? We only have the ability to make these kits work with the GoCode trim kit.
- Can I order my kit with a fan cutout larger than the 14"x14" average size? Yes, not a problem! When you check out, please add a note to your order with the necessary sizing.
- Am I able to make any changes on the puck lights that come with the ceiling kits? We are able to accommodate requests for single rows, double rows (for some van models) or no lights. We are NOT able to change the location of the lights however.
Compatibility
- Are your products compatible with all van models? Our products are designed to fit specific van models. Please check the product description or contact us with your van model to ensure compatibility.
- What if I have a Dually? The wall panel kits will fit with NO modifications needed! Our traditional sized wheel well boxes are not compatible with a Dually however if you make a note on your order at check out then we will create a custom product for your build for only a small additional charge. If you are purchasing a floor kit then please either select the option for the dually configuration or add it to the notes of your order for no additional fees.
- I see that you have products for Mercedes Sprinter Van, will the same products also work in a Mercedes Sprinter CREW? We can make it work! Please add a note to your order that states you have a Sprinter CREW so that we can update your order, there will be a small customization fee for this. If you have a Sprinter CREW it will require use of self-tappers for upper panels as they are shortened to only sit above the windows, not enclose them all around.
Custom Modifications
- Can I modify dimensions of the cabinets – upper cabinets, wheel well boxes, benches etc? Sometimes for an extra fee we can! Please give us a call to discuss your needs to make sure we get the details correct.
DIY Installations
- How do I install a bench using the method of shooting into the aftermarket subfloor? This requires a load-bearing floor of minimum thickness 0.75". Standard wood screws can be driven through the bottom of the bench into the floor so long as the Screw length is (Floor Thickness + 0.5").
- How do I install a bench using the method of shooting into the vehicle floor? If there is no load-bearing wooden floor, you can shoot through the factory floor into the metal. Rivet nuts are preferred (Stainless steel) with rust-proof hardware. A minimum of two will do, 4 is ideal. Careful not to drill into your gas tank, fuel lines, or electrical components!
- What order do I install everything? Head over to our Detailed building tips page!
Electrical and Plumbing
- Can you add 2 5kwh in the EcoFlow Bed System – 54"? Yes, there is enough space to stack on top of one another behind the wheel well.
- Can you mount a 5kwh power kit within the wheel well cabinets? Yes! The tall bed system requires some modification in order to fit the 5kwh system, where the battery must be stored on the shelf, but you're limited to 5kwh. With our low bed system , the bench/bed system can actually fit up to 15kwh and those components move around more comfortably in the spaces.
- How large of a fresh water tank do you recommend in the wheel well cabinets? We recommend the over-the-wheel 25gal, it seems to be the easiest to fit!
Floor Kits
- What type of insulation should I use in addition to my floor kit? Havelock or Thinsulate will do just fine. Havelock has superior performance but Thinsulate is much easier to cut and shape. It comes down to whether you prefer ease of installation or higher thermal insulation.
Kitchen Appliances and Cabinets
- Can I order a kitchen unit without a fridge? No, the fridges are pre-installed only to ensure a perfect fit!
- Am I able to make any changes on the puck lights that come with the cabinets? We are able to accommodate requests for single rows, double rows (for some van models) or no lights. We are NOT able to change the location of the lights however.
Materials
- Can I order a cabinet that has a different material on the doors than the cabinet itself? Yes of course! There is a small additional fee for customizations. Our most popular choice on this is to have the upper cabinets with a different door material.
- Can I order custom material for the wall panels (like birch or bamboo) or use a mix of materials? Yes, absolutely! The cost increase will depend on the materials that you choose. One of our common upgrades is to use an unfinished birch and bamboo combo!
- What is the hex plywood? It is a black phenolic resin coating on a Baltic birch plywood core. While it isn't the lightest material, it is superior in durability, water resistance and chemical resistance.
- How do we stain our Prefinished maple? The maple we purchase comes this way out of the factory, so we aren't sure what they are using to seal it aside from the fact that it is a UV-Hardened Polyurethane. Most urethanes darken the color of the maple to give the appearance of stain, without the presence of any added pigment.
Wall Kits and Upholstery
- Can I get a wall kit with the lower panels and upper panels made in different materials (I.e. upper in black hex, lower in upholstered fabric)? Yes, we can do that! There is a small additional fee for customizations.
- Can I use the DIY upholstery kit to upholster my own walls/pre-finished maple panels? It's recommended to upholster on meranti, as it is specially designed to grip the material/glue.
- Can I just buy the lower half of a wall panel kit for my low roof van? Yes of course we can do that! Please give us a call with your make/model so that we can create a custom order for you.
- Am I able to purchase a different color of fabric for my upholstery kit? Yes! We have ability to order multiple other colors. Please give us a call to go over current options
